			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Increased interaction is key and this creates the “Trust Factor.” Once the Trust Factor is set, your website will have an influx in traffic because people get used to interacting with you online through social media so they feel more comfortable using your services…this is what increases the web traffic. However, the key is: you have to be interesting enough for people to want to pay attention and keep on interacting. This is how social media works and why you need to do it. web analytics showed an increase in web traffic on multiple websites by as much as 300%!! Social media does work, but you have to understand the socialnomics of social media to understand how it works. </p>
<p>The goal is to increase web traffic by integrating social media into your company’s marketing plan. Then compare your social media statistics to your web statistics or as we call them, Analytics, to compare the parallel similarities and the effect that one is having on the other. You must have a social media output statistics which is the monthly increase in fans/followers and a website traffic statistics which is the amount of visitors per month to do this. </p>

New Customer Return Rate<br />
• $15,000 on Direct Mail = 200 New Customers<br />
• $7,500 on Billboard Campaign = 300 New Customers<br />
• $0 on Social Networking Campaign = 1, 800 New Customers</p>
<p>Company Sales with highest Level of Social Media were up +%18<br />
While Company sales with least amount of Social Media were down –6%</p>
<p>Burger King<br />
Spent $50,000 on ‘BK Whopper Facebook Application’ estimated $400,00 in press/ media value. Result &#8211; 32 million FREE media impressions (Fans, Friends, Followers.) This is equivalent to the combined population in 9-US States.</p>
<p>Ford<br />
25% of Fords Marketing is spent on digital/Social Media. Result &#8211; they are the only US auto company who didn’t take a government loan.</p>
<p>President Obama<br />
During the Presidential Campaign acquired 50 Million Social Network Followers.<br />
3-million of those donated over $500 million towards his campaign.</p>
<p>Genius.com<br />
Reported that 24% of Social Media leads converted to sales opportunities.</p>
<p>University of Texas<br />
Reports their registration is up 9.5% since they started using social media.</p>
<p>@ 71% of businesses plan to increase investments in Social Media by an average of 40% in 2011 because:<br />
• Low Cost Marketing<br />
• Social Media is Getting Traction<br />
• Simply HAVE to do it</p>
<p>1. You can’t buy attention anymore. Having a huge budget doesn’t mean anything in Social Media.<br />
2. Successful companies in Social Media act more like party planners and content providers that traditional advertisers.<br />
3. Consumers no longer search for a product/ service – The product or service finds them.<br />
4. Social Media isn’t a fad; it’s a fundamental shift in the way we communicate.</p>

Therefore, feedback is an asset to the future &amp; success of your business. Listening to feedback, accepting the negative and expanding on the positive input will expand your business.</p>
<p>Yesterday’s technology and customer response to your service was fearful and not respected. Today’s technology is instant and so is the feedback on your service and/or product. Don’t be afraid of the harsh opinions, they are just opinions. However, striving in a down economy means listening to your customers, analyzing feedback and making proactive changes. Negative feedback can be hard to swallow and you might take a defensive position against it, but keep in mind, it’s not personal – it’s just business.</p>
<p>Listen to the needs of your customer and make the necessary improvements to incorporate innovative alteration to turn the negative feedback to a positive adjustment so as to show your customers that you do care about them and you are willing to meet their needs and make them happy. A happy customer means repeatable business &amp; repeatable business means continual revenue.</p>

<p>Jeremiah Owyang, a Web strategist, is partner, customer strategy, at Altimeter Group talks about 9 strategies for Social Media Marketing.</p>
<p><strong>1) Have a strong understanding of your customers</strong>: Brands must have &#8220;socialgraphics,&#8221; the measurement of how your customers and consumers are using social technologies</p>
<p><strong>2) Do a social media audit</strong>: Who in your company is already using social tools, where are they and what is their status? Get the same information about your competitors.</p>
<p><strong>3) Develop business processes</strong>:  Develop a triage for how information from different business units and geographies will be cascaded to certain groups in real time.</p>
<p><strong>4) Create a crises response plan</strong>: Incidents move faster in social media. Develop scenario planning.</p>
<p><strong>5) Create qualified roles</strong>: Brands need at least two specialists dedicated to social marketing: the social strategist and the community manager.</p>
<p><strong>6) Develop the right organizational model</strong>: Social media spans multiple business units, so a new organizational model will appear&#8211;even informally. There are at least five organizational models, including organic, distributed, coordinated, multiple hub-and-spoke and holistic. Organizational models around social will depend on size and culture.</p>
<p><strong>7) Have education programs</strong>: Don&#8217;t expect employees to grasp new forms of communication quickly, especially disruptive ones like social tools. Develop internal methods for sharing and experimentation.</p>
<p><strong>8) Create a measurement strategy</strong>: New media requires measurement. The old adage holds true: &#8220;You can&#8217;t improve what you can&#8217;t measure.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>9) Have the mindset to &#8220;fail fast</strong>.&#8221; Plan for mistakes to be made. Encourage active sharing around &#8220;opportunities missed&#8221; without being punitive. New practices require risk and change&#8211;embrace this as your customers likely already have.</p>
